Two stages of the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women are behind us, and the situation in the ORLEN General Classification is still wide open. There are many favourites for victory – the decisive stage will be the final one from Nałęczów to Kraśnik, which will determine the best rider of this year’s edition.
We’ve reached the finale of the cycling celebration in Poland. The battle from Nałęczów to Kraśnik will conclude three days of competition in the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women, featuring the world’s top teams. After two exciting stages, it’s time for the last and toughest one. The peloton will roll out at 12:15 from the Spa Park in Nałęczów, one of the oldest and most famous Polish spa towns. Here – at the hotel Arche Nałęczów dawne Sanatorium Milicyjne – the race headquarters were located.
Today’s stage will be the longest, with a distance of 128 kilometres. The route runs over undulating terrain, which could favour attacks, especially in the final part of the race. The riders will fight for the LOTTO Sprint Prime in Urzędów and Węgliska and the zondacrypto Special Prime in Stróża, placed less than 6 kilometres from the finish line.
Last year, the stage in Kraśnik decided the final shape of the ORLEN General Classification. The solo victory went to Laura Molengraaf of VolkerWessels. This time, the win will be contested by different riders, led by those who have already tasted triumph on the roads of the Lubelskie voivodeship – Chiara Consonni (Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto) and Linda Zanetti (Uno-X Mobility).
The riders at the top of the ORLEN General Classification are separated by just 5 seconds, so anything can still happen. Strong performances have also been shown by UAE Team ADQ riders Dominika Włodarczyk and Sofia Bertizzolo, as well as Kaja Rysz (Polish National Team), Marie Le Net (FDJ-SUEZ), and Kathrin Schweinberger (Human Powered Health). Some may count on a finish from a larger group, while others will try to attack on the more demanding sections of the route. There will be plenty of action.
The start in Nałęczów is scheduled for 12:15, with the finish expected around 15:30. The entire 3rd Tour de Pologne Women is broadcast on TVP, Eurosport, and the HBO Max streaming platform, with live coverage reaching fans in 65 countries.
