This year’s Tour de Pologne Women promises to be 3 days of great racing. In the UCI ProSeries event, as many as 8 top-division teams will compete, coming to Poland with world-class stars. The preliminary Lidl-Trek roster includes, among others, former world champion Elisa Balsamo!
On July 24-26, the 4th Tour de Pologne Women will take place, which will once again be raced on the picturesque roads of the Lubelskie Voivodeship. This time, the women’s race will be held as a UCI ProSeries category event. The promotion to the prestigious group of races is visible not only “on paper” – it is also evidenced by the quality of the start list.
As many as 8 teams from the highest UCI Women’s WorldTour division will come to Poland in July, guaranteeing competition among the world’s top cyclists. Previously, two stars of Team SD Worx-Protime – Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes – confirmed their start in the 4th Tour de Pologne Women. The preliminary start list among the Lidl-Trek riders includes Elisa Balsamo, one of the best sprinters in the world, who, like Kopecky, triumphed in the road race world championships in the past.
Balsamo’s palmares includes, among others, 3 victories in the renowned Trofeo Alfredo Binda classic. She has been the best on stages of the Giro d’Italia Donne as many as 6 times, and has also triumphed in races such as Classic Brugge-De Panne, In Flanders Fields-In Wevelgem or on stages of the Spanish Vuelta.
Besides the Italian, the preliminary lineup of the Lidl-Trek team includes talented climber Gaia Realini, multiple world championship medalists – in cyclo-cross and track respectively – Shirin van Anrooij and Clara Copponi, as well as Marine Lenehan and Margot Vanpachtenbeke.
The competitors will stand at the start of the 4th Tour de Pologne Women already on July 24 in Tomaszów Lubelski, and the competition will end on July 26 in Lublin. Tour de Pologne Women will consistently be an opportunity to promote the beauty of Poland in the country and all over the world. All this thanks to a professional broadcast by TVP, which will also be available on the HBO Max streaming platform. The fight for victory in the ORLEN General Classification will be very fierce!
