Grupa Transportowa becomes the Logistics Partner of Lang Team

Top-level logistics is the foundation of well-organized cycling races. For this reason, Lang Team joined forces with Grupa Transportowa, which became the official Logistics Partner of the Tour de Pologne, Tour de Pologne Women, ORLEN Nations Grand Prix, ORLEN Lang Team Race, and ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs.

The colorful peloton traveling across Poland during races organized by Lang Team is the result of hard work by many people and committed partners. In cycling, everything must be precisely planned and buttoned up to the last detail, and logistics must be at the highest level.

Similar values of professionalism and attention to detail led Lang Team to establish cooperation with Grupa Transportowa, a recognized Polish 4PL logistics operator with global reach, which has specialized in comprehensive transport and logistics services for over 25 years. The fleet of the Polish company includes over 70 modern tractors, which travel nearly 80 million kilometers annually!

From 2025, Grupa Transportowa will become the logistics partner of all races organized by Lang Team – from the Tour de Pologne UCI World Tour and Tour de Pologne Women, to the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix, ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs, and ORLEN Lang Team Race.

“I am extremely proud that Czesław Lang chose Grupa Transportowa as the logistics partner of the Tour de Pologne – a race with an almost 100-year tradition, which has continuously promoted the beauty of our country and the spirit of sports competition since 1928. As a cycling enthusiast, I admire how the Tour de Pologne has gained the status of one of the most prestigious cycling events in Europe, attracting the best riders from around the world every year. Thanks to its extensive infrastructure, modern logistics solutions, and experienced team, Grupa Transportowa is fully prepared to provide the highest standard of service for this exceptional event. Our operational procedures, based on years of experience, guarantee reliability and precision in fulfilling our tasks. We believe that our commitment will contribute to the success of this year’s edition of the Tour de Pologne, and together we will create an unforgettable spectacle for all cycling fans” said Tomasz Macherowski, President of the Management Board of Grupa Transportowa.

“What led us to this cooperation was the reputation of Lang Team and our interest in sports, because my brother and I are both into sports. The talks with Mr. Adam Siluta and Lang Team were at a great level – we feel the same flo,” commented Michał Macherowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Transportowa.

He also emphasized that cooperation with a nationally and internationally recognized brand like Lang Team will help promote Grupa Transportowa abroad. Promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle among employees is also important.

“The recognition of Lang Team, the Tour de Pologne, and the other races will help promote our brand abroad. Additionally, we have a fairly young workforce that is interested in sports, which also encouraged us to get involved in this project” said Michał Macherowski.

Czesław Lang, Olympic silver medalist from 1980 and now General Director of Lang Team, is also pleased about the new logistics partner.

“I’m very glad that Grupa Transportowa has become our new logistics partner. The races we organize are massive logistical undertakings that require excellent planning, experience, and full commitment – and that’s exactly what Grupa Transportowa guarantees. It is especially important for us that it is a Polish company. At Lang Team, we have always focused on quality, but also on promoting our country internationally” admitted Czesław Lang, General Director of Lang Team.

As the logistics partner, Grupa Transportowa will handle the transport of equipment needed to organize cycling races. The largest undertaking will be their work supporting the August edition of the Tour de Pologne, the only UCI World Tour race in the region. Specially prepared transport sets featuring the logos of Grupa Transportowa and the Tour de Pologne will be visible not only during the race but also beforehand – during the preparation phase. One of the tasks of Lang Team’s new logistics partner will be transporting BOPLAN safety systems from Belgium to Poland.

The Tour de Pologne is the only stage race of UCI World Tour rank that uses shock-absorbing barriers and totems, offering optimal protection for riders during sprint finishes and at critical points along the route. In total, over 650 meters of BOPLAN barriers will be used at each stage, highlighting the scale of this logistical operation!

“For many weeks, we have been intensively preparing our fleet for the logistical support of the Tour de Pologne. We will use 20 transport sets to ensure the efficient and safe transport of equipment and technical support to each stage of the race. Our efforts, however, are not limited to the main race. Grupa Transportowa will also support prestigious accompanying events, such as the Tour de Pologne Women and the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs” confirmed Michał Macherowski.

“Sport and transport have a lot in common – both require determination, passion, and the ability to handle challenges. Both a professional cyclist and a logistics expert know that success is the result of commitment, precision, and the ability to react quickly to changing conditions. Managing logistics operations is like a multi-stage race: it requires preparation, strategy, and decision-making under pressure. Each stage is a challenge that brings us closer to the finish line. Cooperation with the Tour de Pologne is a unique experience for us. We believe that just like the athletes on the route, we too can achieve spectacular results thanks to consistency, passion, and the joint efforts of the whole team” said Violetta Kaczmarek, Operations Director at Grupa Transportowa.

We’ll see Grupa Transportowa’s fleet in action for the first time between May 14–17 during the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix – one of the races held as part of the UCI Nations Cup series. It is the most prestigious race series for cyclists under 23. Each year, over 20 national teams participate, including Poland, along with local teams featuring riders in white-and-red jerseys. During this race, future cycling stars take their first steps – and now so will the vehicles of Grupa Transportowa!
