Riders from the world’s top teams continue racing on the roads of the Lublin region. Today, in Chełm and its picturesque surroundings, the second stage of the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women will take place. The ORLEN General Classification leader’s jersey will be defended by Chiara Consonni of Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto.
Chełm and its surrounding areas will host the battles of Stage 2 of the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women. The riders will start and finish in a city steeped in myths and legends, famous for its monumental Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today, the history of Chełm will be enriched by those who take centre stage on this fast and dynamic route.
The organisers have prepared a 99.5-kilometre loop starting and finishing in Chełm, where in the past Phil Bauhaus claimed victory in a Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour stage. The course will be slightly undulating, with the finish leading up a rising cobblestone road – excitement guaranteed! In addition, after 67 kilometres of racing, the riders will contest points and bonus seconds at the LOTTO Sprint Prime in Gmina Chełm.
Yesterday’s stage of the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women proved that the best riders are eager to fight for every bonus second, so another sprint finish is expected – just like in Chełm, although here it will be a true test of endurance for pure sprinters.
Starting Stage 2 in the yellow ORLEN General Classification leader’s jersey will be Chiara Consonni of Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto, who not only won yesterday’s stage but also claimed the only LOTTO Sprint Prime on the route. The Italian is therefore the main favourite for today’s stage, but other riders in good form promise fierce competition.
Among them are Clara Copponi (Lidl-Trek), Kathrin Schweinberger (Human Powered Health), and Kaja Rysz (Polish National Team) – they finished yesterday in that order behind the winner. Strong contenders for the challenging finish also include Emma Norsgaard (Lidl-Trek), Marie Le Net (FDJ-SUEZ), and Linda Zanetti (Uno-X Mobility). The riders will set off at 13:00, with the finish expected around 15:30.
Fans can follow the battles of the world’s best teams in the 3rd Tour de Pologne Women via TV broadcasts on TVP, Eurosport, and the HBO Max streaming platform. The race signal reaches fans in 65 countries!
