On Sunday, July 26, we will find out the final results of the 4th Tour de Pologne Women. The competitors will fight on a slightly over 100-kilometer stage from Janowiec to Lublin. The 3-day competition will end in the capital of the Lubelskie Voivodeship and we will know the winners of the ORLEN General Classification and the LOTTO Most Active Rider Classification, in which the dominator Lorena Wiebes leads after two days.
All good things come to an end quickly. The grand finale of the 4th Tour de Pologne Women will take place today – a three-day UCI ProSeries event, which, like in previous years, is played out on the roads of the Lublin Voivodeship. After the finishes in Zamość and Lubartów, the owner of the jerseys of the ORLEN General Classification and the LOTTO Most Active Rider Classification is Lorena Wiebes from Team SD Worx-Protime, who won the first two stages.
Today the cyclists will have their last chance to turn the tide of the race. Ahead of the peloton is a slightly undulating stage from Janowiec to Lublin, which will be played out over a dynamic distance of 101 kilometers. The competitors will start from the Market Square in Janowiec in the Puławy county, from where they will head towards Puławy, known as the “Polish Athens”. The only LOTTO Sprint Prime will be located there, where bonus seconds and points for the LOTTO Most Active Rider Classification will await the best cyclists.
Next, the peloton will ride towards Lublin, the capital of the region, known for supporting sports and cycling initiatives. The Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour has been hosted here many times, and two years ago, a time trial on the streets of Lublin inaugurated the Tour de Pologne Women, reactivated by Czesław Lang and Lang Team.
Now the women’s race will return to the heart of the Lubelskie Voivodeship, where on Krakowskie Przedmieście – right in the city center – the competitors will finish for the triumph and the title of the LOTTO Stage Winner.
– On the last day, we will ride through wonderful terrains from Janowiec to Lublin. The stage will be short, at barely 100 kilometers long, but there will certainly be many willing competitors to fight on the last day to improve their result in the general classification. The entire race will end in the very heart of Lublin, where in a beautiful way and in beautiful scenery, in the presence of many fans, we will close the 4th Tour de Pologne Women – said Czesław Lang, General Director of the race.
For the first two days, the 4th Tour de Pologne Women was dominated by Lorena Wiebes from Team SD Worx-Protime, who is sharpening her teeth for another triumph. The Dutchwoman can count on the excellent support of her teammates, including Polish rider Marta Lach.
However, there are more contenders to fight for the highest places, and the small differences in the ORLEN General Classification may encourage the riders to attack and fight not only at the finish line but also in the earlier part of the stage – also at the LOTTO Sprint Prime in Puławy. Among the competitors who will want to fight for a place in the strict lead, one should mention Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek), Lara Gillespie (UAE Team ADQ), Chiara Consonni (Canyon//SRAM), Marthe Truyen (Lotto Intermarche Ladies) or Polish riders – Olga Wankiewicz (MAT ATOM Deweloper Wrocław) and Kaja Rysz (Polish National Team), who have already placed in the top ten in the stages of the 4th Tour de Pologne Women.
The broadcast produced by Telewizja Polska from 2:00 PM will be available on TVP 1 and at 2:15 PM on the Eurosport 1 channel. At the same time, the race can be followed live on the HBO Max streaming platform, thanks to which it will reach fans from 65 countries.
