“We have very ambitious plans for the Tour de Pologne Women. Women’s cycling is developing very rapidly. Already today I can announce that all three stages of the race will be organized in the Lublin voivodeship, which excelled years ago during the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour” announces general director Czesław Lang and adds, “Thanks to this we are sure that the routes we have prepared will be of a really high standard.”
The Tour de Pologne Women, scheduled for the last weekend of June 2024, will be organized entirely in the Lublin voivodeship. In 2021-22, the Tour de Pologne passed through there. At that time, the route included such cities as Lublin, Zamość, Kraśnik, Kazimierz Dolny and Chelm. The great enthusiasm of the local community, very good roads and picturesque views, encouraged Czeslaw Lang to repeat the success and return to the Lublin region with another international event.
“In 2022, during the conference summing up the Tour de Pologne, I announced that we would like to return to this beautiful area with another race. I am happy to announce that the Tour de Pologne Women will be held entirely in the Lublin voivodeship. We will start with an individual time trial in Lublin. The second stage will lead from Krasnystaw to Kraśnik, and on the route of the third stage, the peloton will set off from under the Arche Nałęczów hotel to Kazimierz Dolny. It is there that we will know the winner of the general classification, sponsored by ORLEN” announces Olympic vice-champion and organizer, Czeslaw Lang.
In addition to the established routes that have been the scene of the largest cycling race in our part of Europe for several days, there is also a confirmed Main Sponsor who has been supporting Polish cycling for many years, both at the professional and amateur levels. ORLEN also supports women’s cycling, and female cyclists will compete to win the yellow jersey of the ORLEN general classification.
“ORLEN is the largest and most active sponsor of sports in Poland. Our activities in this area translate into positive perception of our brand in the country and increased recognition abroad. Supporting popular sports disciplines and athletes also makes it easier to reach existing customers, but also to attract new ones. Cycling could not be missing from our wide portfolio of projects. Now we will support the Tour de Pologne Women, which is returning to the calendar of the most important sporting events in the country, which is very important from the point of view of popularizing the discipline among women” says Agata Pniewska, ORLEN’s Executive Director for Sponsorship.
The first edition of the Tour de Pologne Women was held in 2016. It was won by the Olympic champion in mountain biking, who confirmed that she can also be effective on the road, namely Jolanda Neff. The best of the Poles, Paulina Brzeźna-Bentkowska finished just off the podium, in fourth place.
