Time for the… time trial! The 2. TdP Women begins

With a spectacular individual time trial in the center of Lublin, the 2nd edition of the Tour de Pologne Women will kick off today. It’s going to be very fast! The international lineup includes three Polish teams: MAT ATOM Deweloper Wrocław, TKK Pacific Nestle Fitness, and the national team.

We’ve been waiting a long time for this day – today, the Tour de Pologne Women, reactivated by Lang Team, will begin. The host for the second edition of the race will be the Lubelskie Voivodeship, where 3 stages will take place. The first stage is an individual time trial over a distance of 4.5 kilometers. The route through Lublin’s historic center starts and finishes near the historic Litewski Square. Along the way, the riders will face a slight uphill section and a hairpin turn – a key technical challenge that will test each rider’s skills.

In an individual time trial, especially over such a short distance, details matter – power and technique will be crucial, as they can provide riders with a significant advantage over their competitors. The first rider will start the course at 5:45 PM, and we should know the winner before 8:00 PM.

The timing of the individual time trial is great for spectators, and there will be plenty to cheer for! Fans gathered in Lublin will have two hours to watch all the riders participating in the Tour de Pologne Women take on the time trial.

At this moment, it’s difficult to point out a clear favorite for the competition – we can expect very tight races and battles down to the seconds. Particularly promising are Hanna Tserakh and Diana Klimova from BTC City Ljubljana Zhiraf AMB, whose track experience plays a significant role in such time trials.

We must also mention Federica Piergiovanni from UAE Development Team, Scarlett Souden from VolkerWessels, and the Ukrainians from the national team – Olga Shekel and Valeriya Kononenko. Polish riders should also be in contention for top results, including our talented cyclists who recently won medals at the Polish Championships in the individual time trial for under-23 women. This includes the gold medalist of the championship, Zuzanna Chylińska from TKK Pacific Nestle Fitness Toruń, and Olga Wankiewicz from MAT ATOM Deweloper Wrocław.

Let’s not forget about our representatives from the Polish national team – Aurela Nerlo and Kaja Rysz – who could find themselves among the leaders today. The short distance favors surprises, so we might see a rider in the top positions who we wouldn’t necessarily think of as a favorite before the start.

However, it certainly won’t be a random cyclist. In Lublin, the best will fight for victory, and the reward will be not just the stage win, but also the most coveted cycling prize – the yellow leader’s jersey of the ORLEN general classification. We are in for an exciting race that will influence the following stages. It will be a celebration of women’s cycling at the highest level!
